Cardiff, with love
Perfectly located, Cardiff has the best of both worlds. It is a vibrant capital city with plenty to see, eat and do. Feel the daytime rush and the night-time buzz of Cardiff with a varied nightlife and never-ending calendar of cultural and art events. Small in size, big in personality: it is the ideal place to call home.
At Delph Living, we appreciate that finding the right location is just as important as the actual property. To save you time, we did some research on why moving to the Welsh capital could be the best decision you make this year.
To begin with, you will find the wonderful Bute Park in the heart of the capital, putting the ‘lush’ back into the city with landscaped gardens and parkland. To fall in love with the city again and again, check out Cardiff Castle for amazing panoramic views. You will never feel out of your depth here because you will naturally bump into the same friendly faces due to Cardiff’s small size. Don’t forget that if you do want to get away from it all, a mere 20-minute drive away will find yourself in one of Wales’ stunning national parks Brecon Beacons and a little further on, are the beautiful beaches of the Gower. You will never feel too far away from anything living in Cardiff.
Unlike most capital cities, Cardiff offers an extensive choice of worldly cuisine for half the price and at no distant. You can easily find Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Lebanese and Greek restaurants to name but a few, within a short distance from Meridian Plaza.
Inspired by traditional Mexican street food, Wahaca offers a large and inviting menu to tease your taste buds. Whether you go for a set menu or their “bigger plates”, do not forget to order a side of ‘frijoles’ to your order- you heard it here first. It claims to “serve up the Tidiest Tacos on the Taff” so it has our vote! Afterwards, head upstairs to their Rojito cocktail bar for an after dinner tipple infused with a variety of local tequilas and mezcals. ¡Viva la fiesta!
The New York Deli
With rave reviews online, you have to visit The New York Deli. Established in 1990, this sandwich shop doesn’t shy away from stacking up sandwich fillings. If you’re looking for an authentic Big Apple experience, we would recommend to everyone to take a lunchtime stroll over to this sandwich shop. What’s more, it takes under ten minutes to wander along the high street from our apartments at Meridian Plaza.
Looking for authentic Italian food in a laid-back environment? Nestled in Castle Arcade you’ll find a popular local hot spot. Restaurant Minuet has been around since the mid-1980s and once you’ve tried the food there, it’s easy to see why. Strapped for cash? Not a problem, the restaurant is BYO and there’s no corkage fee to pay!
A stone’s throw away from two main railway stations (Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street), the Meridian Plaza gives you the opportunity to travel at ease, as and when you please, making it the ideal location for commuters and weekend adventurers. Also, with plenty of cycle paths and regular bus routes, you can get around Cardiff stress-free and efficiently. For those looking further afield, you can get direct flights from the ‘Diff’ to Cyprus, Iceland, Lapland and even Qatar. Plus, living at Meridian Plaza means you are only ever a 5 minute walk from all the shops St David’s 2 has to offer as well as the quirky boutiques of the Victorian Arcades.
Game day doesn’t get much better knowing that you can pick up a pie and pint (or two) in the city centre after a match and still be home in 10 minutes. Our studio and one-bed apartments are perfectly located to catch the rugby without any travel disruptions but close enough to hear the crowd roar.
If you aren’t so keen on sport, fear not! The Motorpoint Arena offers a variety of live music, comedy and other spectacular shows to keep you entertained. No need to worry about travel cost when you live close enough to some of the world’s best talent on showcase.
When it comes to finding your next property to rent, why not Cardiff? Delph offers a remarkable selection of modern studio and one-bed apartments available, starting from £675.00 per calendar month. View our available properties here.
